Get Lost

One of my wise readers said that sometimes you have to get lost to find yourself.

When i think about how long i was lost, i realize i wasted a lot of time wandering the wilderness.

Then again, i couldn’t have arrived at where i am today if i hadn’t visited some of the places i visited when i was lost. Some people have to go through hell before they can get to heaven.

About Al K Hall

Like a battered drinker or a punch drunk boxer, i am here for another round. For those of you who don’t know me, i’m a semi-professional writer on the rocks and a non-practicing alcoholic (if after 30 years of practicing, you still can't do something well, it's best to just give it up). For those of you who do know me, thanks for stopping by anyway and where’s the ten bucks you owe me? Welcome to my Bar None. A hole in the wall where we can hang out and trade the kind of stories you swap only when you’ve had one too many and either can’t find your way home or are afraid to. Hell, it’s cheaper than therapy and plus the pictures are prettier. Here we’ll crack open bottles and jokes and ‘last call’ are the only dirty words you’ll never hear. Pull up a stool and make yourselves at home.

  1. Damn Straight! Truth be told in no clearer way, round the block a few times!!!!!

  2. No one EVER told me about meth bible camp! Gives new images to the old “rend your garment” idea…

Here is the question: how MANY times do I need to go to hell to get this ball rolling for GOOD?

That damn Middle that Mel talks about Maybe it is just Purgatory?

    XO Jen

    • Gives whole new meaning to the idea to a “smokin’ outfit”!

Get the ball rolling and then get on it? lol Maybe the trick is to explore purgatory, that way we can make the most of our time there!

      Keep coming back, Jen!

  3. “Then again, i couldn’t have arrived at where i am today if i hadn’t visited some of the places i visited when i was lost”.

This is precisely my philosophy as well! There is not one step that I would’ve wanted to back-track, because where I am at this exact moment is where I am supposed to be and actually [want] to be. No matter what idiotic, horrible or straight-out-stupid experiences I’ve made, they have each and every one led to all the good experiences that I value and treasure.

And heaven sure wouldn’t have been oh so glorious and appreciated unless one firstly had spent some time in hell… I am happy to know that you have found your heaven 🙂 Take care, Al K!
