2012 in review

The WordPress stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog and i thought i’d share it with you. AlKHallics Anonymous did nowhere near as well as my main blog (1,400,000 visits in 2012!), but this blog is a labor of love for me and i’m more concerned with who comes here rather than how many. Because of that, i’d like to thank you faithful readers for your visits and especially your voices and i hope you’ll keep coming back in the months and years to come.

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 18,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 4 Film Festivals

About Al K Hall

Like a battered drinker or a punch drunk boxer, i am here for another round. For those of you who don’t know me, i’m a semi-professional writer on the rocks and a non-practicing alcoholic (if after 30 years of practicing, you still can't do something well, it's best to just give it up). For those of you who do know me, thanks for stopping by anyway and where’s the ten bucks you owe me? Welcome to my Bar None. A hole in the wall where we can hang out and trade the kind of stories you swap only when you’ve had one too many and either can’t find your way home or are afraid to. Hell, it’s cheaper than therapy and plus the pictures are prettier. Here we’ll crack open bottles and jokes and ‘last call’ are the only dirty words you’ll never hear. Pull up a stool and make yourselves at home. http://about.me/AlKHall

  1. Looking forward to ‘keep coming back’ through 2013! Really grateful for your clear, concise writing and down to earth style. Thank you for all that you do.

    • Thanks for the props, BBB. It truly means a lot to me as i’m a big fan of your writing style and posts. So, from one writer to another, i’m looking forward to exchanging some sobering thoughts!

      Keep coming back,

      Al K Hall

      • Nice stats. I’d present my stats, but i simply don’t think they mean anything to me personally. I don’t think other people would find them interesting if they bore me.

You did really well in 2012, and 2013 (even if it’s a “calendar flip”) looks bright for you and yours. Mel

        • i’m a stats geek, i am. Ask Celeste! She knows how closely i watch them. Not so much for this blog, though, and i guess that’s why i posted these results. Also, i have the feeling i’m lower than many other recovery bloggers and so i’m sharing these to give the rest of the blogging world an ego boost!

          Keep coming back,

          Al K Hall

          • You are a kind and generous man. My boyfriend is probably a bigger stats freak than YOU! I promise you! I LOVE that about him. It keeps me informed, and I don’t have to bother with googling anything. Thanks for sharing … ALWAYS … thanks for sharing!

  2. I’m glad you got back safe and sound, looks like from posts here and there. Hope you had a good journey home.

“this blog is a labor of love for me and i’m more concerned with who comes here rather than how many”

It’s good to see you write this.

Happy 2013, and here is to more quality blogging throughout the year. (And it is *quality* — no joking about that!)

    xx
    Celeste

    • Hi babe,

Safe and sound and sober! It’s a Christmas miracle.

Thanks for the “quality”; while some posts are better than others, i’m usually pleased when i go back and reread myself here, which is always a good sign.

      Keep coming back,

      Al K Hall

  3. Hi Al! Glad you made it back safely! Happy New Year and I look forward to reading in 2013.
